Sentience ("we," "us," or "our") is a life simulation mobile game developed by an independent creator.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to operate the app:
- Game save data – Your in-game progress is stored locally on your device and, if you opt in, synced to iCloud using Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
- Apple Sign In – If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive only the information Apple provides (a unique identifier and, optionally, your name and email). We do not store this on our servers.
- Purchases – In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to verify and manage purchase entitlements. RevenueCat may collect a pseudonymous user identifier and purchase receipt data. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers unless you choose Sign in with Apple.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or sell your data.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not share your data with third parties except as described in this policy.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To save and sync your game progress across devices (iCloud KV Store).
- To verify in-app purchases and unlock premium content.
- To allow account deletion on request.
4. Data Storage and Security
Game data is stored on-device and optionally in iCloud, which is governed by Apple's privacy practices.
We do not operate our own servers that store personal data.
5. Children's Privacy
Sentience is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
6. Your Rights
- Delete your data – You can delete all game data directly in the app via Settings → Delete Account. This removes data from your device and iCloud.
- Access – Since data is stored on your device/iCloud, you have full access through your Apple account.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
